Kamernet charges around €34/month just to contact landlords. Huismaatje is free. We also focus on matching (people) rather than listings (rooms), so you see housemate profiles, not just a photo and a price.

Create a free account and open the map of Amsterdam. Every pin is an available room. Click a pin to see photos, rent and the existing housemates. Use the filters to narrow down by neighbourhood, price, size and preferences.

Rooms in Amsterdam typically range from €500 to €900 per month including bills. This varies strongly by neighbourhood, the centre and De Pijp are more expensive; Noord and Nieuw-West tend to be cheaper.

Yes. You can filter across 13 Amsterdam neighbourhoods, Centrum, De Pijp, Jordaan, Oost, West, Noord, Zuid, Bos en Lommer, De Baarsjes, IJburg and more. You can also filter by price, room size and BRP registration.

When you like a room, the existing housemates are notified of your interest. If they like you back, you match and can start chatting. This keeps the inbox clean and makes sure conversations are mutual.

Yes. When you like a room you can optionally attach a short note (up to 150 words). A personal intro significantly raises your match rate.

Yes. Payment links are automatically blocked. You never have to share your phone number or email until you want to.

A hospiteeravond is a Dutch tradition where shortlisted candidates meet the existing housemates together. You come by, chat, sometimes cook pasta, and the house picks who fits best. It is informal, not an interview.

Every room page shows whether a viewing night is planned. Tap "RSVP" to reserve a spot. You can see how many spots are left and the exact time.

Be yourself, the hospi is about chemistry, not an interview. Tips: be on time, bring something small (cookies), ask about the house and house rules, and be ready to introduce who you are and what you are looking for.

Create a free landlord account. Enter the details of the house and room, address, rent, photos, amenities and a description. Your ad is live on the map within a few minutes.

No. Listing, managing and promoting a room is always free.

BRP registration lets the tenant register at the address with the municipality, which affects tax benefits, voting rights and health insurance. On every Huismaatje listing you can see whether BRP registration is possible.

Go to huismaatje.nl/signup and sign up with email or a Google account. It takes under a minute. You will then go through a short onboarding to fill in your profile.

Yes. You can update your profile at any time from the profile page, name, photo, bio, occupation, languages and more.

Your exact address is never shown to seekers (only after a match). We store minimal personal data, use encrypted connections, and ban suspicious accounts quickly. Read our privacy policy for details.
